James River Association respects the privacy of our online visitors and donors. Any personal information you provide is voluntary. We do not require that you register in order to view our site. There are times, such as when you donate online or request to receive our e-newsletter, when we will collect specific information, such as your name, mailing address, zip code and/or e-mail address. If you provide an address or e-mail address you may receive communications from us – by mail or electronically – regarding JRA events, news about river-related topics, and support opportunities.
No Computer Tracking of Identifiable Information
JRA does not monitor your personal activity on our site. We do track collective, anonymous user data to evaluate the effectiveness of our web site to help us make improvements. This data consists of the number of site visitors and page requests. The data is generic and contains no personal information.

Our donation page is powered by PayPal, one of the industry leaders in the use of encryption. The following is taken from the PayPal website:
Your computer: When registering or logging in to our site, we verify that your internet browser is running Secure Sockets Layer 3.0 (SSL) or higher.
In transit: Information is protected by SSL with an encryption key length of 168 bits (the highest level commercially available).

To provide visitors with additional information and resources about the James River our web site contains numerous links to sites developed by other companies and organizations. Please be aware that other sites’ privacy policies may differ from JRA’s and that we have no influence over third-party privacy policies.
Notice to Children Younger than Age 13
Do not send any information about yourself to us, such as your name, address or e-mail address. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children younger than 13. In the event that we learn we have collected any personal information from a child without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information from our database as quickly as possible.
To Modify the Mailings You Receive from Us
You have the choice to modify or discontinue any communications you receive from the James River Association. We value your support and care about your time, and want you to feel good about the support you provide to help our mission for a cleaner James River.

1- The name and address as it appears on the mailing pieces you receive from us.
2- If you want to continue receiving mail from JRA.
3- If you would like to receive our newsletter and periodic e-mail updates.
4- To keep costs down, James River Association may exchange its list with other reputable organizations. If you do not want your name exchanged, please e-mail us at Info@jrava.org
